This page explains how users of Parents are OK: Senior Safety can request that their account and all associated personal data be permanently deleted.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account in two ways:
Option 1 — Delete directly inside the app (fastest)
- Open Parents are OK: Senior Safety on your phone.
- Tap the Settings tab (gear icon, bottom-right).
- Scroll down to Data & Privacy.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Your account and all data linked to it will be scheduled for permanent deletion immediately.
Option 2 — Submit a deletion request by email
If you no longer have access to the app or your account, send an email to:
Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request – Parents are OK
Please include in your message:
- The email address associated with your Guardian account (the one you used to sign in with Google or Apple), or
- The display name you set up in the app, together with the platform (Android / iOS) you used.
We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days.
What Data Is Deleted
When an account is deleted — either in-app or by email request — the following data is permanently removed:
| Data type | Deleted? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | ✅ Yes | Received from Google / Apple at sign-in; deleted from our systems |
| Display name | ✅ Yes | The name you entered at setup |
| Device record | ✅ Yes | Device ID, push-notification token, OS & app version |
| Pairing records | ✅ Yes | All links between Guardian and Elder devices |
| Alert preferences | ✅ Yes | Inactivity thresholds, battery thresholds, pause state |
| Heartbeat & activity data | ✅ Yes | Battery level, motion, screen-unlock, app-used signals |
| Alert history | ✅ Yes | All past inactivity, low-battery, and offline alerts |
| Firebase Authentication record | ✅ Yes | The sign-in identity used by Firebase Auth |
| Analytics user properties | ✅ Yes | Role, subscription tier, and paired-device count linked to your ID |
What Data May Be Retained (and Why)
Certain records are kept for a limited period after deletion for legal and operational reasons:
| Data type | Retention period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription & billing records | As required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically 7 years) | Legal obligation; contains only transaction metadata — no payment card data |
| Aggregate / anonymised analytics | Indefinitely | Fully anonymised; not linked to any individual account |
| Deduplication logs | Up to 30 days after the last related event | Prevents duplicate payment webhook processing; contain only event IDs |
We do not retain your email address, display name, device signals, or alert history beyond the 30-day deletion window described above.
Data Collected from the Elder (Monitored) Role
Elders use anonymous authentication — no email address or name is required from them. The data associated with an Elder account consists of:
- A randomly generated device UUID (no personal identity)
- Heartbeat signals (battery, motion, screen-unlock — not location or content)
- A push-notification token
All of the above is deleted when the Elder account is removed (either by the Elder unpairing / deleting their own device, or when a linked Guardian deletes their account).
